Critical Review

Critical Review;

I feel my project was an overall success but there are a few areas I would have liked to improve. If I was given the opportunity again, I would have contacted the school system earlier than I did, which would have possible secured a meeting before the one I attended, this would mean the extremely important input from the school children was received with more time to implement them.

This extra time would have enabled me to longer in the design process, rather than the delay I experienced leading up to the Christmas break. Despite this I believe the project completed to a high standard through-out and tight deadlines were met. I would have liked more time to improve and perfect my project but the time controlled aspect of project restricted that.

Technology was probably the biggest problem I had as Adobe Edge removed JQuery which was a fundamental part of the applications build, this required a switch to Animate CC although this helped with getting the application onto an iPad, which was the original plan I needed to learn a completely new software program which knocked the project back a week. The use of Xcode as a replacement for Adobe Edge was not recommended due to the complexity of it.
On further reflection, I would improve the software element of the project as the switch to Animate CC hindered my progress. Animate CC was quite outdated and didn’t have the required support needed to move at the speed I intended to. Although the software was not the best, I was still able to finish all tasks on time and to the expectations of the target audience, but a more supportive software may have given me extra time.

To summarise, the project was finished to a high standard and there are many aspects I am happy with, and others I hoped would be better. More time would have enabled me to finish to an even higher standard but Adobe losing the JQuery support mid project requiring me to learn a new software restricted this. I am happy the application worked and it was for the benefit of the children users.
